ON ROTATION: ADDITIONAL SKINCARE

For when me and my skin have different ideas. Y'know, weather/diet/stress levels/hormones (delete as appropriate).

When my skin feels dull or congested, I can always rely on the following night-time routine, once or twice weekly. After cleansing, I apply Clarins Exfoliating Brightening Toner all over with a cotton pad, followed by my usual toner, and apply balance Me. Radiance Face Oil on the drier areas that need a little TLC. I go to bed a little shiny-looking, but always wake up looking noticeably clearer-skinned in the morning. Basically, if I recommend just one thing, it'd be the Clarins Exfoliating Brightening Toner.

For those pesky blemishes: I turn to ARK Age Prepare Skin Purifying Masque (or alternatively, a clay-based mask). Generally, this calms down most inflammation but as with any clay mask, can cause more breakouts on occasion. To counteract this, I have recently been using Pure & Light Essential Floral Toner on affected areas. Despite smelling quite fragrant (a usual no-no for me) I find this quite refreshing to apply, and reduces redness by morning.

For when the sun is out, or it's that sunny but still cold time of yearLa Roche Posay ANTHELIOS SPF 50+ XL Dry-touch Gel Cream is my go-to alone or underneath make up. I've avoided sunburn on a few very hot days, even without reapplying.
