Smashbox's Photo Finish Foundation Primer hasn't left my make up bag since I first tried it. This is probably evident from the amount of times I've recommended it... and my friend Yazz must've picked up on that when she bought me this for my birthday (!) Very good timing as my last tube had almost bit the dust.

Smashbox's Try It Kit is a lovely gift set that allows you to dabble in all of their bestselling products. So we know the primer is my favourite; I've used it almost every time I've worn make up for the past six weeks and have hardly dented the 7.1ml tube. A little goes a long way, justifying it's full size price tag.

I've tried the Photo Finish Lid Primer with a wash of eyeshadow on a few occasions and it appeared to keep everything in place, like the old favourite UD Primer Potion. But I think it does just pip UD as the packaging is much more sleek.

My other favourites of the set are the Full Exposure Mascara in Jet Black and the Limitless Eye Liner in Onyx. The mascara coated and defined my lashes perfectly without clumps, however would need the help of a curler to add curl and length. Whereas the eye liner is probably one of the best I've tried. I tend to find kohl liners don't last, aren't pigmented enough, scratch the eye area... or I'm just very picky, but this is buttery soft, lasts and is very comfortable to apply to the waterline and tightline as well as the lid.

The only product that doesn't suit me is the Lip Enhancing Gloss in Illume. I own another nude Smashbox lip gloss but it's rarely used simply because of the lip gloss/wind/hair scenario that always seems to arise... That's no gripe against the quality of the product though, as these lip glosses are high shine and last very well throughout the day.

What do you think of these Smashbox products?

P.S. how awkward is it to photograph things indoors at this time of year?!
